Terms & Conditions

Services and Fees

Educational Therapy and ADHD Coaching: 

  • We offer virtual and in person services for K-12 students, college students, and adults. 

  • Educational Therapy includes: educational evaluation and screening for learning disabilities, custom individualized intervention, an educational therapy report, and achievable goals we set with you.

  • $85 per 50 minute session 

  • Material fees will be charged when needed

  • We will refer to other providers if we do not meet your needs.

Reading Therapy and Academic Language Therapy: 

  • Monthly fee structure that reflects a discounted rate with Federal holidays and regular breaks already built into the fee. 

    • Monthly: September - May (due on the 1st of the month)

      • Two 50 minute sessions weekly - $560 monthly

      • Three 50 minute sessions weekly - $790 monthly 

      • Custom schedules when appropriate

      • Limited spaces for remake sessions

      • Learners who struggle with reading need a minimum of two sessions per week in order to retain and build off of new learning.

  • Limited spaces will be offered in the summer months, June-August, and be billed separately.

Educational Assessment/Dyslexia and Learning Disability Screening: 

  • Fees will start at $250 and include report writing.

  • Fees are applied as a credit for clients who choose to stay with Sapience for intervention. 

  • Evaluations use industry standard diagnostic tests and reports include recommendations that can be used by other educational specialists to aid with 504 and IEP planning. 

  • Referrals will be made as needed for diagnosis.

Consultation: 

  • We provide consulting services at $100 per hour including:

    • Homeschooling Parents - discounted rate

      • Choosing appropriate curriculum for their child that meets specific learning needs,

      • Teaching methods, 

      • Troubleshooting. 

      • Transitioning out of homeschooling or to college

      • California A-G requirements for UC and Cal State bound students

    • College Counseling 

    • Consulting services to parents, teachers, and schools including: 

      • Interpretation of diagnostic testing both in house and from other providers

      • IEP and 504 planning

      • Navigating services and accommodations

      • Best practices for teachers that use the Science of Reading and Learning and evidence based interventions 

  • Brief consultations and needed updates over the phone will be provided as a courtesy. 

  • Regular updates regarding your child will be sent via email and text as appropriate.

Meeting Formats:

  • Meeting sessions may be provided either through e-practice (virtually) or in-person for clients that live within the Columbia, MO regional area.

  • Virtual educational therapy requires the ability to self manage behavior. Parents may be required to be present for the entirety of each session to help their students with technology, attention and/or behavior. 

  • We do not recommend virtual therapy for students younger than third grade or for students with severe dysgraphia. However, we are happy to work with you to find a good fit for your student. 

 

Case Management: 

  • We offer case management to coordinate between parents, teachers, and other allied professionals that may include: 

    • Speech and language pathologists, psychotherapists, educational psychologists, school counselors, marriage and family therapists, occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, physicians, or optometrists on behalf of the student. 

    • Schools, teachers, and special educators

    • IEP and 504 teams 

  • Typically, these services are included in the ed therapy session fees; however, if extensive meetings are needed, extra fees will be charged.

 

Summer: 

  • Limited sessions will be offered during the summer, but summer sessions are not required to hold your spot for the fall.

Policies

Attendance: 

  • Educational therapy and reading intervention requires regular attendance. 

  • Missed appointments make it more difficult for an already struggling student to get the full benefits from educational therapy. 

  • Students receiving reading therapy or reading remediation must be able to meet a minimum of twice per week.

  • There will be minimal availability for make-up sessions each week.

  • If needed, we can change an in-person meeting to a virtual format at our regular meeting time.

 

Materials: 

  • If the student is responsible for bringing materials to class, please remind them to have them available when meeting. 

  • In some circumstances, materials may need to be purchased by the family to aid in assessment or educational therapy. 

  • If specific materials are required to meet the needs of your child, a materials fee will be charged. 

  • For virtual services: a computer with a camera and a document camera are required and students are asked to have a pencil and paper handy 

 

Cancellation Policy: 

  • Vacations:

    • Please let us know at least a week in advance if you need to change your meeting time or have a vacation planned so that we can plan accordingly. 

    • Canceled appointments that follow this guideline will either be made up, or the student will be issued a credit for a future session. 

 

  • Illness: 

    • Illness happens unexpectedly. Please let us know as soon as you are aware that your child is sick or has a sick family member that makes it difficult for in-person appointments. 

    • We can reschedule as we have openings, or, if in-person, we can change to a virtual format. 

    • There will be no charge for missed meetings due to illness or family emergencies.

 

  • No shows: 

    • Not showing up without notice will result in being billed as a regular session.

 

  • Discontinuing services: 

    • Please give us two weeks’ notice if you decide to discontinue services so that we can help your child transition out of educational therapy successfully. 

    • Educational Therapy is meant to support students as needed, our goal is to move toward independence with an end goal in mind.

    • Progress monitoring and annual assessments will be used to help determine when goals have been met allowing the student to complete ed therapy.

  • Please feel comfortable to communicate any concerns or questions!

  • In general, we will send out regular updates through email regarding the progress of your child. 

  • Please note that we partner with WizTherapy to manage our scheduling, so all appointment emails may be sent from a WizTherapy email address.

 

Confidentiality:  

  • Any information that we obtain about your child or your family will be kept confidential.

  • We will not share information about your child with other professionals without your written permission.

  • If we need to consult with other professionals about your child, we will not disclose identifying information unless we have written permission to do so.

    • Clients will be asked to sign a Release of Information form that will be kept on file when colloboration with other providers is needed.

  • However, as mandated reporters, we are required by law to report suspicions of neglect or abuse. 

 

Billing:

  • Payments will be processed through Stripe and managed by WizTherapy

    • ACH payments will be accepted with zero fee

    • Credit Card Payments will include a small transaction fee

    • Monthly clients will be billed at the beginning of each calendar month, however, please let us know if an alternate payment date works better for you. 

    • Weekly or bi-weekly payments may be accepted upon request

  • Please note that billing emails will be sent through WizTherapy.

  • Detailed invoices are available upon request
